Welcome to the USS Anubis!

As Starfleet evolves with the times they have decided to try and modernize the fleet with the incorporation of marines into more mainstream fleet activities. As such with ships such as the USS Pioneer, commanded by Commodore Tyler Malbrooke, marines have begun to become embedded within the command structure of the ship with a Marine as ship's XO, and another being COB.

As such the USS Anubis has been commissioned by the request of Starfleet Command and the Starfleet Marine Corps to act as the testbed for a marine run vessel within the fleet to act as a mobile command base and able to engage in the many mission types that normal naval vessels undertake.

They will come with the added skillset of being able to undertake the more nitty gritty tasks that require a firmer hand, a show of force or a slight nudge in the right direction.

And, they are there to assist other species flourish in hard times. To protect those who are in need and to shine a light on those that would do harm. At the moment the focus is on helping the Romulan people after the Hobus supernova, even if it proves difficult. Many still blame Starfleet for withdrawing their evacuation forces, but the Anubis will hopefully mend some fences.

So, the Anubis has been launched under the command of Colonel Hastios Eilfaren and his daring crew will take on the challenges of the closing chapter of the 24th century with marine dedication, professionalism and deadly accuracy.

They may take up a rescue mission to save a helpless prince or princess in a far off volcanic land. They may head up to worlds no-one has seen before to give out aid to the needy, to protect those in need or in some instances head up a second contact meeting.

Help us weigh the scales of the galaxy in 2397.

As said we are a marine based ship and do the jobs no-one else is suited for within the 16th Fleet. However, there will be some Starfleet embedded within the crew for those that ask, or feel their character would be a good fit here in that role.

The crew roles and responsibilities are more refined than a standard Starfleet vessel, but we are still going to strive for all mission types that they undertake with potentially more emphasis on marine based missions at times.

Please take a look at the manifest and see if you want to join us.
